TAF has converted LSU Gameday fans into your typical 'be seen' fans... much like Texas fans. Come late, leave early, ask somebody the score the next morning, talk sh**.
This hits it on the head.
LSU crowds used to stay until the bitter end. For example, in the 41-14 rout of Kentucky in 1996, the stadium was full the last few minutes, with the fans screaming for the Tigers not to let Kentucky score a garbage touchdown to break 20 points.
I know, because I was there then, and I'm there now.
Forget all these bullshite traffic excuses.
The good seats are all owned by big corporations.
Those tickets are then used by these fairweather fans who jumped on board when it became "cool" to be an LSU fan--the corporate drone daddy, the soccer mom mommy, who put the little fake LSU tatoos on the kids' cheeks and think it's cool.
They leave at halftime or a little later, no matter what the score.
Yes, I know it's an arms race and we need money.
TAF turning Tiger Stadium into a Corporate Coliseum and pricing the old, passionate, beer-drinking Tiger fan out of his seats, has gotten us a lot of money and a lot of facilities.
But TAF has perhaps taken from us something a lot more valuable--the intimidating aura of Tiger Stadium on a Saturday night.
