My friend thinks cheat days are all you can eat fests. He diets well during the week but when he cheats he goes all out. He stays in good shape but you can tell he could use some work. Especially in the mid section. I've always been of the mind set that I can cheat, but I keep it under control. Still pay attention to what I'm eating. And I only think cheat days should be done when you are disciplined enough to not cheat during your non cheat days.

And I also agree with your earlier post. Proper diet is great and will cause weight loss, however over time body composition will still look bad. I've always been a big fan of the mirror test because I know the importance of lifting weights/exercise. So I still believe diet=75-80%, exercise=25-20%

ETA: For those who use protein powder, an awesome snack I used last night was taking a scoop and mixing just a little bit of water with it in a bowl until it was a pudding like consistency. I ate it just like that. Protein pudding. I've heard it's even better after being in the freezer for 30 minutes or so

I don't cheat very often. I had not had a true day since Starting in January until recently. Currently doing one evey two weeks. My bodyfat is getting pretty low so I will probably start having a cheat day or at least cheat meal weekly.

I mix a half scoop or less of protein powder with a little peanut butter when I feel like I must have "dessert"
