Good evening fellas. Someone told me about this thread but no chance I'll read it all. Could I get some feedback on what this thread has discovered?
I need and want to make a lifestyle change and live healthier. I also recognize what I eat is the most important factor, a friend told me I cannot out-train my diet.
I'm 6'2", 262lbs, late thirties. Want to get down to 215lbs.
My plan is simple. Don't eat so much. Eat more veggies and less starch. I'm a sugar addict, this will be tough. Don't drink calories, whichis a big challenge for, I drink a lot of coffee with flavored creamers. Journal my food and keep it at 2,000 calories a day.
What's the best plan that you guys have seen in this thread the past 2 years? Am I on the right path? I want to keep a balanced diet that is sustainable.
Thanks!

it's a cliche`, but walk instead of drive, stairs instead of elevator, knock out some pushups every 30 minutes at your desk. Most of us are a lot more sedentary than we realize. This helped me a lot a couple of years ago when I lost about 40 pounds over the course of a year.

Welcome to the thread.
Most here are on low carb diet. I've lost almost 80 lbs over 16 months.

Thanks man and congratulations on your success. I've done Atkins and dropped 25lbs but found it very difficult to maintain. Any tips on how you have maintained it for so long?
I am very sedentary, I started working out this week. The key for me is to consistently stick with it.

Blood pressure.
Welcome and good luck. The first plan you try may not be the one you have success with. Listen to the big losers: Myth, Hulk, Beagle, Josey. Sorry CAD your out. BTW try to ignore the troll.

The hardest thing to get used to was cutting out breads and cutting way back on my beer consumption. I've had my ups and downs with it, but when I screw up, I get right back on it because I know it works for me. Hulk and Myth have been doing it longer than me so they may have better suggestions. Usually the only time I cheat really bad is when I wake up hungover on the weekends. If I didn't drink, I would be 210 by now.
Good luck with it.

No great tips for now, I'm way too stuffed from cornbread dressing, roast, ham, chips, dip, beer, and cheesecake to not be hypocriticL
