How does Billy Gonzales figure in to our offensive mess?

Billy leaves Florida because he was passed over for OC promotion, so he comes to LSU to be "passing game coordinator"/WR coach; a move made by Miles to signal his committment to improve last years abysmal passing game.
Many suspected Gonzales could become LSU's OC.
So here we are with a passing game = or worse than last year. It doesnt appear as though he's made any mark on this program. When you bring a guy in to fix a problem and it just gets worse instead, there's eventually going to be some finger pointing and internal disagreements.
Are there any signs of a schism among LSU coaches or players yet?
Over/Under on how many more games before there is?
..and what role does Billy play in this? Surely he wouldnt have left Florida to coach WRs on how to run-block. Anyone think he's being muted?

internal disagreements may already be present. maybe since day one. all i know is what you said, if i hire a plumber to fix a leak and it gets worse, i ain't paying the sob. there is definately something amiss on the O side of our team. it is the HC's responsibility to identify it and correct it. ya gotta think he's trying to do just that. hopefully, he'll fix it sooner rather than later.

nothing will change because the head coach doesn't know how to fix it...
plain and simple.

The only imprint BG has had on the offense is the jet sweep play that we run with RS in the slot. Remember Percy Harvin used that as his bread and butter at Florida. Defensive coaches can easily gameplan for LSU, because there are no wrinkles or plays designed to break tendencies. It's either playaction deep, I formation dives or spread slants. I don't think BG has much of a voice with the offensive gameplan or design.

That's the $64,000 question. Or one of them. Has his role as "passing game coordinator" ever been explained to the public? I don't recall that. Anyway, that's a question I'd ask Miles at his weekly presser.

Chris Tolliver's if true indicate a potential internal schism developing

I think the passing game is on the QB coach. You have a guy that has started 17 or 18 games and he has completely digressed.

The finger pointing goes to the coaches who recruited JJ. The kid just doesn't have what it takes to be the qb at an sec level school. It is by no means his fault. I'm sure he wants to win just as bad as anyone. It doesn't matter what play is called, if JJ does not know how to properly read a defense and go through his reads, he can not execute the play. They are giving the guy plays they think he can execute.

And that's one of the reasons I've said all along that BG will not be the next OC at LSU.
1. People will eventually blame him as part of the problem.
2. No experience as an OC and people will say he is another Mallory/Peveto mistake and Miles can't afford that right now.
3. The hire will have to be a big name or a popular/safe hire. (see Chavis hire from two years ago.)
