Be Happy with 8 - 9 win seasons and a Bowl game.

An occasional double digit win season every couple of years in the mix.
Bottom line is we could be back in the pre-Saban days.

Miles has more double digit win seasons than Saban had here, FWIW.

This is precisely what we're looking at this year, 9 wins and a decent bowl. I guess some are okay with that but I'm not. By the way, that "successful" record will get us another year of Crowton, Miles, Jefferson, etc. and another 8 or 9 win year and another decent bowl. Welcome to LSU football.

Fear equals failure.
I'm sure this is exactly what Miles says to himself.

We will probably end up in the Independence bowl in Shreveport this year. Its a shame for a once proud program. J/K

And he inherited a program that was in very solid shape compared to one that was circling the drain when Saban came in

Exactly - all the constant roller coaster of the program after the Bo Rein tragedy.
It was absolute instability.
Take a consistent winner and hope we pull off a great year at least every 5 years or so

And you expect that Saban will suddenly abandon all of his red shirts and ome back to your empty and lonely arms?

Not sure we get to 8 this year

Too bad we're paying Urban Meyer/Nick Saban money for Dinardo like performance!

No.

Charley McClendon's "Walking I" is looking better all the time. It's nice and simple. We appear to be able to run (as long as it is not the option). Maybe we should stick to throwing about 15 or so times a game for this particular team.

for the most part, you're right, except I think a 9-win LSU team that finishes at the bottom of offensive stats gets Crowton das boot

Name one SEC program that dominates without having some down years. Florida is back, but they were just ok for a while under Zook. Alabama fell off the map for a while there, and Auburn was just ok for a while there. Look at Tenn and Georgia. No program will dominate the SEC on a regular basis. As far as the OP i think this is not so much about LSU as still feeling shunned by Saban, and knowing he is doing well with Bama.

True.
I am not a big Miles fan, but I really do not understand how people can look around college football and think that we are going to lose 4 games this year. Have you seen our opponents? Ala/Arky was full of frick ups and exposed lots of different problems for both teams. Auburn and Florida have had their share of problems as well.
We have one and only one fricking problem. We do not have a QB. That is it. That is all. We have a great defense and ST, we have a decent OL and run the ball well. We just cannot throw the ball, but that is the ONLY problem with this team. If they get that position to have a mediocre contribution, we will win at least 10 games this year and all of these doom and gloom threads will look fricking pathetic.

Miles NEVER would have done what Saban did for our program. Miles is a decent guy, above average in recruiting. He lacks in his lack of game management and preparation. His public speaking is way out there.
Is he the best? NO
Is he OK? yes

This is quite possibly the most pathetic statement ever posted on any message board, ever. That attitude fits right in at Ole Miss, but it won't fly here. The goal is to win National Championships. The Capital One Bowl and the Liberty Bowl are the same...not good enough. BCS Bowls and National Championships are the goals and anything else is a disappointment. I can't believe that anyone would honestly say that an 8 or 9 win season is something to be content with at this program.
