WVU & LSU: no matter who wins - the outcome is probably the same

Strange, but true.
If WVU loses this game, and both teams win out::
-LSU will win the SEC and possibly play for the NC
-WVU will not play for the NC, but rather a BCS

More than likely, this game does not change the destiny of either school. Welcome to life in the worst conference in football - the big crapper (east).
Maybe I can just sit back, relax, and enjoy the top-25 matchup without taking it too serious because it probably won't change anything come season's end.

probably true but I'd rather have an unblemished record going into games like Bama, UF, and Arky

Didn't think of it like that, but you're probably right.
But really, take care of business each week and good things will happen no matter what.

At this point, you'd have to become the biggest fan of other teams in your conference for OOC games. While you were probably rooting for Utah to beat Pitt, it's games like that that keep your conference down.
That being said, an undefeated team from a BCS conference shouldn't be held out for a one-loss team. Of course not all BCS conferences are created equal, but you will have played enough legit opponents to put you in the big game.

LSU and ARKY will both be undefeated when we play......it will be EPIC!

Yeah... guess you're right. I just pray for the day that I wake up and the Big East conference is gone... or WVU left.

That's the power of playing the SEC schedule..

WVU is the only football focused school left in the BigEast, where their city cares about them. I mean Pitt is close, but Steelers rule that city. Its kind of sad. Maybe USF can help contribute one day, but the program is still in its infancy.

ProjectP2294... I agree with you 100%. I do think you have to look at the conference because, let's face it, there's a big difference playing in the SEC and the Big East.
I think the only fair way to deal with this is to have a playoff, but that's another topic for another day. Until then, we'll settle for a "paper" champion every year because teams are placed in bowls depending on their "ranking", which is "voted" on by sport's media journalists, coaches, and whoever else... WTF!?!
Yeah... 33 sports the NCAA governs. Each has a playoff... even water-polo and RIFLE! But Div-1 football... too much $$$$$ involved.

BTW, I feel I should warn you about this site. I know all week all of you WVU fans have been on the rant smack talking, which is cool. But if you want to retain your sanity, don't venture over to any of the other boards on this site, you'll end up staying forever.

If you want to maintain your sanity get the frick off of anything that says "rant" in the title

Been reading all of the smack talking and posting some. But I will say that skipM is one of the cooler ones who hasn't really stirred that much shite. If anything he has taken our side and calmed it back down.

Hey thanks. I used to be a bit temper-headed with football. Admittedly, I'm a Browns fan. So, when Ernest Byner fumbled on the 2 yard line against Denver years, ago, it took me a few years to recover. From then, I don't take this too seriously anymore. Trust me, I enjoy college football and WVU like crack, but I keep it in perspective.
ProjectP and SprintFun... yeah... I'm getting that feeling. Hell, I'm having a hard time staying away from this board. I can't imagine the other rants. This is definitely the place to be.
