I'm looking at Kiper's Bigboard, and he has Prince Amukamara (Neb. CB) as the #1 corner ahead of Peterson. I'll admit that I've never seen the kid play, but come on.

Last week Rivals had the OSU CB in front of him. I sort of feel like PP is on another level but maybe I'm mistaken?

PP will be 1 before its over.
Or atleast he will be the first CB taken in the draft if he chooses to go that direction.

frick Kiper. Before the season started he didn't even have PP in his top 25 players. He's the joke of talent evaluators. The guy playing for Arizona is the second best corner imo anyway.

I've seen Prince and Chimdi Chekwa play, and they're great college corners, but they can't spit shine PP's cleats man. The shits ridiculous.

This is not the first time they have mentioned the Neb CB - so it is not as though he is a total newcomer/stranger to the scene.

While we know that PP is really good at being a CB, his return stats are also in our minds when we evaluate him as a player.

The outsiders are looking at only CB skills and maybe Prince is equal to or an epsilon better at that.

The NFL draft more than the end of the year evaluations will determine the better player anyway -

Peterson will go number 9 in the draft. No way he falls outside the top 10 imho

He's not.

But yeah, the combine and pro days will bear that out. Peterson will be the first DB taken. Probably top 5, depending on how many teams reach on overrated franchise QBs.

Why? Because he doesn't think the Thorpe Award is going to be renamed the Peterson award?

Whatever. God forbid we should actually believe a player who is #1 overall at his position actually plays for LSU.

Chekwa isn't a shut down corner, IMO.

I haven't seen PP play much. Chekwa is a senior which helps, but he isn't as physically gifted as PP for sure.

Since that's never ever happened in the history of LSU football. JR, LL, TS, GD.

Actually I am a huge "hoper" as well as a homer at heart.

While I believe that we could have the #1 player at any slot as evidenced by the slew of 1st round picks from LSU, I accept that others who do these evaluations might have a valid reason as well.

Maybe I should have restated my final line as thus -

" whilst anyone can say anything now - I would love it if PP could shut their mouths at the end of the year by his tremendous shut down play and single-handed efforts towards winning the game for us versus Bama/Florida and Arky and will be the 1st CB taken in the Draft and in the top 5 as well."

I can't wait to see PP at the combine, he is going to put on a show IMO

The interesting thing will be his weight though, which may make NFL teams think he would be better suited to playing safety. In that case the Nebraska CB would be the #1 CB, but PP would still be drafted above him as a safety in the 5-10 range.

Only way he gets drafted as a safety is if he bombs the forty and runs like a 4.5... he's too good at coverage to be stuck back there
