The Matrix!!!!

Wouldn't have to go to a land line to exit. Think of all the avoded deaths when Scyther was being a bitch. He'd have to drag down and bomb a satellite or cell phone tower to kill the people inside!

**that is if the bots had towers erected for the humans to use.

There were cell phones when the Matrix was made and were heavily prominent in the film. Morpheus actually sends one to Neo in the film and Neo runs with one to get directions. A landline is required to leave the Matrix.

They had cell phones in the Matrix, but only land lines connect you back to the real world.

Dude they had cellphones in the matrix. Remember, Scyther drops his in the garbage can to signal their location.
