So far this year, not much has happened to advance the JJ vs. JL debate one way or the other.

The only argument that has been put to rest was the one that said JJ was going to dramatically transform his style of play based on your usual sunshine articles from the summer ... and few people ever believed that anyway.

That said, there are still legit arguments for wanting the QB rotation changed. They're just the same ones that existed before the season started.

Most people just want to let the debate be worked out on the game field, not practice field. I think JL should be seeing some significant time, maybe not starting, but atleast getting in the game more. Anyone who thinks he will throw 16 more pics and however many for 6 is just crazy and will be against the kid no matter what he does. The same for those not wanting JJ to play. He showed Saturday that he can play pretty good if the game plan is simplified, and that's a step in the right direction. Let them both show what they bring to the table.

And legit arguments for saying lets not change anything just yet.

12-3 in the last 15 regular season games and a current #12 NR does not exactly point to a team in need of a rotation change in any college football I'm aware of....offensive ranking or not.

JL fans watched his performance in the spring game and then anointed him as the starter, even though the spring game doesn’t come close to matching the speed, pressure, and intensity of an actual SEC game. Then when JJ had a bad game and JL completed a single short pass, the JL fan base went bananas and started demanding that he play. The reality is JL never had a real shot at playing unless JJ got hurt.

Anyway, JJ played really well again Saturday night and the 97 yards of production is primarily a reflection of the incompetent offensive play calling, as JJ did everything that was asked of him, although it wasn’t very much. Hence, the pressure is on the coaches now to remove the shackles they’ve placed on this offense to let the kids play and have fun. Nothing is holding this offense back from being a very good offense other than the coaches and their exceedingly conservative play calling.

As for as JJ’s improvement goes, it is very evident as he looks much better in the pocket, goes through his progressions much faster and better than before, and with the exception of a single bad game in which he was ill, his accuracy has been much better and more consistent.
