chicken, I'm a firm believer that the reason they call the game so conservatively is because:
1. 2008.
2. JJ needs confidence building in his passing game, b/c it's so obvious the coaches don't TRUST him at all to throw the ball deep. And to watch him through the progressions...there were no progressions. they called on JJ to run the ball pretty aggressively tonight, it's obvious they got on to him to just run....as awkward as it looks.
Frankly, neither one of our QB's are great, and it's obvious by the playcalling

JJ has no touch on his throws. He is basically a below average QB without the right touch. He throws too hard all of the time. Sad to say it.

his throwing motion look like it's mired in mud.

When the coaches illustrate they have no confidence in the QBs with their playcalling, it only hurts the QB's confidence in himself.
I understand playing conservative, but there has to be some mid to deep routes and plays attempted. Otherwise a good defense will smother us.
JJ looks and sounds lik a QB with a confidence problem and I'm not sure the coaches are helping.

And just why did we NEED to throw the ball deep tonight?
The coaches call the plays they need to in order to win the game. Not so JJ throw it deep or throw for 300 yards and 5 TDs.
The name of the game for Miles is defense and minimal mistakes on offense. Very simple. If you want to see a team throw for 300 yards and 5 TDs, don't be a goddamn LSU fan. Go suck on Urban Meyer's weiner.

I bet he can throw a mean javelin, though.

quote:Too accepting of Crowton's ability to playcall in general. The guy sucks and with Mr. Miles, the offensive guy he is, it doesn't make sense. And bringing in BG. Maybe we need 12 offensive coaches with $15 million total in price tags.

The offense sucks but it's for many reasons. Some of them get paid top dollar, some gets books and a tuition.

I noticed how hurt JJ's confidence was when he ran in for that TD. And I'm sure his confidence was really hurt by winning yet another game by 20+ points. JJ is probably crying into his pillow tonight because he's so pissed they won't let him throw the ball deep so he can rack up killer stats to make all the NegaTigers STFU.

Man I wish I was as simple as you.

And I'm glad I don't focus on every single goddamn play like you do. We had a strategy for winning the game, we executed it and we kicked their arse. I love the strategy. You don't. It's that simple.

HERE'S THE DEAL THOUGH. IF YOU HAVE ABSOLUTELY NO CONFIDENCE IN JEFFERSON AS A PASSER, THEN WE SHOULD BE IN A RUNNING OFFENSE WITH SHEPARD AS THE QB.
Shepard could certainly pass 90 yards a game off of an assorttmenrt of short yardage throws to our wideouts and I guarantee Shep has a more compact release.
The difference is that Shep COULD run the option, Shep would be a home run threat in the read option and make Ridley more effective, Shep would burn teams when the pocket breaks down, Shep would be a better leader and show more confidence and presence in the huddle and having Shep at QB would fulfill one of this offense's main objectives which is to get Shep the f-----g ball

Hey coach, how many points would we have won by tonight if you were calling the plays?

Maybe you just have low expectations that are easily accomplished.
