"I'd like to hit the crap out of him." (Brees) says SF DC

Not a bad west coast story titled, 'Brees is no breeze for SF secondary-
On the 49ers' first defensive play of the 2010 season, cornerback Nate Clements anticipated a route, stepped in front of Seattle tight end John Carlson and intercepted a pass from Matt Hasselbeck.
In the second quarter, Clements anticipated a route, took a step toward Seattle wide receiver Mike Williams and was burned, badly, for a 35-yard completion down to the Seahawks 1-yard line.
One moment, Clements, a 10-year pro, resembled a wily veteran. The next, he looked, as coach Mike Singletary put it, “like he just totally lost his mind.”
Such is life for the Niners' ball-hawking secondary, known for its aggression and, recently, its regression...
Hasselbeck had his highest completion percentage (.782) since 2006 and his second-highest quarterback rating (108.3) since 2007.
Possible problems were foreshadowed in the exhibition season when Raiders quarterbacks Jason Campbell and Bruce Gradkowski combined for a perfect QB rating of 158.3 in seven drives against San Francisco's first-string defense...
“I'd like to hit the crap out of him,” said Niners defensive coordinator Greg Manusky, who was a linebackers coach with the Chargers when Brees played in San Diego. “I'd love to, but he gets rid of the ball. He knows where the ball's going and he understands fire zones, he understands cover four, single-safety high, he understands everything.”

These types of comments are just compliments. Brees doesn't talk shite, he doesn't have to. He lets his play speak for itself. That being said, I'm not worried about any malicious, dirty hits on Brees from any team, other than the Viqueens who already had their chance.

He sounds a bit afraid of Brees...

It is fear. And respect. Brees is finally getting the respect from teams that Brady, Peyton, Favre has gotten the past few years, and its awesome to watch.

Luckily Brees is great at getting rid of the ball. I met him a few times when I lived in NOLA. He's fairly dainty for an NFL QB

TulaneTigerFan...."He's fairly dainty for an N.F.l. Q.B"......

Are either of you mongoloids trying to argue the fact that Brees is small for an NFL player? I've seen the guy numerous times in person. If he took a beating similar to the one the Saints laid on Favre in the NFCCG I'd be afraid for his life.
