"One call that everyone will continue to see is Jefferson running the option play. Miles was adamant that the option play can benefit the offense."

"I don't see (Jefferson not being comfortable with running the option)," Miles said. "That play gives us the opportunity to affect the defense. It can make the defense spread out. I believe Jordan has the ability to run the option."

article quote per Tigerbait

The option will continue

i'd love to get a "stop running the fricking option" chant going, but there's no way our drunk asses could coordinate that well enough to make it sound even somewhat coherent

I would love to see an option play work as well, but, I cannot figure out why this is still being called. There is no way this play works in practice, cause it never works in the game

id like to see us attempt that play that Florida like to run where they pull the TE to creat the shovel pass option...

i think we could do it with Peterson.... worth a shot

Um....." stop the option" seems a simple enough chant.

In fairness, we do run it better than we did last yr and we are running it to the strong side.

But it doesn't mean I think we run the option well, bc we definitely do not.

This could work

In the past, LSU Administrators have forbid the band to do things to promote cheers of a vulgar nature. This rule should apply to the team as well.

It stretches the D horizontally, if you run it enough.
Trouble is, if you don't ever gain yards with it, you don't have plays left to take advantage with. They need 4 to 5ypc to make this concept work or you get the 3 and outs.
The option isn't a one summer wonder you can just throw in the playbook either. It takes a lot of practice to get the blocking schemes and spacing down pat.
It needs to be no less than 25% of the playbook or it's best left alone because of the time it takes away from other plays.

Jefferson will not be able to take the punishment of running the option through the SEC schedule.

Maybe JL will get in there to cure our anemic offense.
