Being that almost every thread is based on a certain topic, I think it might be healthy to actually have a safe haven for some good thoughts about our football team. I'll start: Ridley looked like a great second half running back. Along with our other RB's and our improved O-line play, I think our running game will be vastly improved this year. Josh Williford looked great considering this was his first start. Our O-line is holding up well in pass protection as well. Ryan Baker is a straight beast. He has great instincts as well as speed. Him and Sheppard might live up to Brady-Faulk standards this year.

On a side note, I fully expect this thread to be on page three within 45 minutes.

1) Thank you for not posting about a certain topic
2) I am excited about Ridley and our O-line (the whole running game for that matter)
3) Our defense is fun to watch - I especially like watching the D-line!

I'm positive that after a horrible freshman campaign and a year and a half on the bench watching/learning/relearning/rewatching will turn J Lee into a Matt Mauck-esk QB.

*71 plays on O.
*D held them to 135 yards (half of which came on 1 play). And I don't care who you play, that is dominating.
*No fumbles
*Baker is back - played well.
*PP didn't get hurt on a return (looking forward to meltdown when this occurs)
*Freshmen secondary showed improvement
*O-line pass blocking much, much better than last year. I'm not sure about run blocking.
*Shep scored on a big play again.
*Hints of sustained drives at the end of the game.
*Very few penalties

This would be positive if LSU was in the sun belt conference. But, like reality, we are not. We are in the best BCS conference in collage football that has won 5 BCS titles in a row.
If we don't get our act together on offense, our defense will be worn out again like last year agaist schools that are a little more talented than Vanderbilt.
The defense is/looking better, but thats about the only positive I'm taking so far so early.
The offense, which I'm positive is ranked way higher than 50th in the country, better get its act together or its going to be a long season. Thank god for the Saints.

I'm positive Reid will knock another players head off if you catch a pass in his area of the field.

Great D - potential to be one of the best I have seen

Very much improved OL

Ridley ran extremely well and held on to the ball last game

Explosive playmakers who can score from anywhere on the field and via special teams

2 wins and moving up in the rankings!!

defense is legit, once the secondary gels, it will be a top 10 defense

O-line and running game is improved

Shep is getting touches

We are 2-0 and ranked #12/#15.

There was something positive in there. Matter of fact if Miles would read that post and take notes, would be the most positive thing ever.

LSU is 2-0 Having beaten two BCS teams on the road to start the season

Running game looks solid and the defense may have dramatically improved between games 1 and 2

LSU's conference record for 2009-10 isn't all that bad compared to other decent programs besides Bama & Florida...

LSU, 6-3
Ole Miss, 4-4
Tennessee, 4-4
Auburn, 4-5
Georgia, 4-5
SCAR, 4-5
Arkansas, 3-5
