Other than the bad throws and catches in the first quarter. How was the play calling? I recall a very predictable 1st quarter offense. Anyone else?

JJ and Shep could not hook up for shite. They kept one play several times but it never worked. JJ to Shep in the flat.

that's honestly hard to judge given how poorly JJ played.

I thought JJ fumbled the ball on the 1st play and it was a turnover, but somehow the refs were on our side.

sooner or later the other defense will figure out that, when it's third and short, lsu will run the q.b. draw.

This is the second game where JJ and shep have throw and catch issues in the first quarter. Now once shep got his good runs in. He seemed to calm down and get sticky fingers. I remember the bubble screen. That was very predictable and vey easy to defend if you are prepared.

an offensive pay call will only be as good as the players can execute it. I mean no disrespect when i say this, when you're qb performs as poorly as our did last night, it doesn't matter what you call. he couldn't handle a snap, he couldn't complete a pass. the wr could be wide open and he would struggle to get it to him. the spencer ware catch is a t.d. if the qb throws a decent, not great, ball. he threw it so poorly it led the r.b. out of bounds.

Every time it was second and long, we ran the ball up the middle for no gain or for little gain setting up third and long and the inevitable punt.

Shep made a couple of nice catches in the second half. He also dropped an easy one too in the beginning of the 4th quarter.

Possibly the dumbest play to ever start a game. Maybe next week we can run th option to the short side on the first play.
