Because a lot of people gave Saban a pass for losing Damien James and Matt Mauck mid season (yes, it was his fault Mauck got injured). Don't forget that Toefield was injured for a majority of 2002 as well.

But I remember Saban said after the game he was concerned about letting them back in the 4th quarter, and that this game was an example of why we need to play for a full 60 minutes. Would be nice if Miles had that attitude.

Do you really think that the entire coaching staff doesn't have the same concerns? Just because it isn't explicitly stated in the press, doesn't mean there's no concern.
