Charles woodson only had one special teams TD in '97 when he won it (PP already has that)

Woodson also only had 283 return yards that year! PP7 only needs 26 yards returning to match that!!

Woodson also had:

-231 yards receiving on 11 catches, with 2 TDs.
-15 yards rushing on 3 attempts, with 1 TD.
-8 INTs.

And I can't find the numbers for his tackles and sacks, but I'm sure he had a few

Jesus, looking at those numbers why the frick did he win it. I know 8 picks but shite... if we would have let zenon return it a few times he could have reached 250. And he wouldn't have deserved it either.

Pretty sure it was only 7 int's. I remember Cedrick Donaldson having 7 that year for LSU, and was the same # as Woodson.

ETA: Just looked up some stats on Michigan's website for their record for season stats.

-Sorry, it was 8 int's
-Woodson was #2 in most returned punts(44), but not in top 10 in average(9yds/return). This only means he returned a lot of punts, but wasn't that great at it. Didn't return many kick-offs(Not in top 20)
-Didn't make top 10 in tackles, not in top 25 for tackles for loss, not in top 20 for sacks.
-Was #2 in pass breakups the year before his heisman, but not top 18 in his heisman year.

Overall I say he didn't have great stats his heisman year other than int's, he was probably just a lock down corner, where other teams didn't throw his way. Much like PP is/will be.

Oh, and I'm sure it helped that his punt return was the Ohio State game,(Game before the heisman?) fresh on the voters mind.
