When you don't get the ball, that is hard to do. He gets 2 td's and then sees the ball 3 more times the rest of the game. He was our leading rusher for yards per carry last year. He didn't play in two of our biggest games last year with no explanation. I feel bad for Shep, because he could be a heisman candidate, but the coaches are screwing him.
they are not screwing him.....you have no idea what went on last year.....and the reasons...this year he will put up good numbers for lsu........next yr he will have a chance at being sec player of the year.....progression is the key.....

I hate people who use the word "hater".

Guess that makes me a hater.

At least you are dumb enough to admit it. Did I say that right? I guess. Chicken has been very lenient with you. You have pushed the envelope.

Yes, thank god for a defense that gives up 412 yards passing to a mediocre QB playing without his best WR or his two best RBs.

les does well with what he has.....

What he has is one of the top 10 programs in the nation historically, with facilities, budget, fan base, recruiting base and national visibility all in the top 10...and he's not sniffing anywhere near the top 10 on the field. That's not doing well with what he has, that's fricking up an almost unfrickupable situation.

lsu has done well every year....bowl every year.......next yr lsu will be 10-2/11-1...lsu has stayed in the toughest conf. and competed.....miles will never out recruit saban/mac brown/urban myer/stoops..........so get used to it.....unless we get one of those coaches then shut up and quit being part of the problem....since you showing how hard you are why dont you go and do better?.....you think you know more when you dont.....this is an extra curricular sport in college...your business attitude is why people like you take the fun out of the spirit of the game...according to you lsu should go 14-0 every year....that would be nice but lsu just isnt that good and will NEVER be....

CUT LES AND CHAVIS A BREAK HATERS!!!!

6 starters did not play

Starting WR and RB on offense = 2
Three of front four plus all four DBs on defense = 7

7 + 2 =|= 6.

quote:

unc prepared their players for weeks knowing they may not play

And our players prepared for much longer than that.

quote:

.improved offense who turned over ball 4 times and had some stupid penalties and still scored 30....

No, the offense did not score 30. It scored 21. It was handed the ball four times in great field position in the first four possessions and had a total of 7 points. It went the entire 2nd half without scoring a point. Against a 2nd-string ACC defense. We got a total of 303 yards, about what our average was last year...when we finished #112 in the nation.

quote:

1st game'
...on road
...against a bowl bound team

It was also UNC's first game, and it was on the road for them, too. And that UNC team (the one with 9 starters out) will be hard-pressed to make it to a bowl. If they don't get those starters back, they will finish 4th in their division of the ACC.

quote:

we will be alright...

That's all in what you think of as "alright". For you, going .500 in the SEC and losing 4-5 games a year is "alright". For an elite program, that's not "alright".

you have no clue about football , all your concerned with is flipping lsu with your negative attitude opinion...imo your the kind of person who breeds sores in lsu's football program.....what have you accomplished? obviously nothing with your failing attitude.....lsu is young and they beat a sound team.......if you paid attention and go read unc football site...they had 9 starters on offense playing and only 4 out on defense...2 of those were missed badly....that is their freaking problem........lsu is young young and still won
on the road....despite all of the mistakes lsu made more than balanced the fact that they had a couple of guys who couldnt play for unc.....you such a freakin plug if you ask me.......

The offense scored 21, and turnovers and penalties are a common reason for offenses not being very good.
lsu scored 30.....

you pretty stupid ...your attacks dont work on me...you should learn how to bring a better game than this....hahaha

so why don't you enlighten me on what happened last year and the reasons? Why wait till next year to be the sec player of the year? If they give him the ball, he can do that this year. More bs. You must be related to Les. I don't want to hear the playbook was too complicated, etc, you give them a few plays to focus on and get them to do those well.

Well, then maybe you shouldn't be calling people stupid. Glass house and whatnot.

So why not keep doing the same things the rest of the game?!! Why not give SHep some touches?

Gotta spread the wealth around...yes, RS and PP carried the game but you have to get others involved as well. IMO, we should have seen more of Murphy and thrown Ford in there for good measure.

lsu scored 30.....

LSU scored 30. The offense scored 21. Defense and special teams scored the other 9. 21 offensive points against a 2nd string ACC defense isn't much. Whether it's because of penalties and fumbles or just not being able to block, run, throw and catch, the result is the same. 21 points against a 2nd string ACC defense.

We started our first four possessions at the UNC 35, the UNC 30, our own 47 and our own 42, and we scored a grand total of 7 points. On our 5th possession, starting at midfield, we scored a TD. On our 7th possession, starting at our 49, we had our longest drive of the game, 51 yards, for a TD. Both of those TD "drives" were one-play scores. I'm not complaining about quick scores, but they weren't "drives" in the sense that we moved the ball down the field on them. Outside of those, our longest drive of the night, on 12 possessions, was 33 yards. On nine of those 12 possessions, we kept the ball for four plays or less. In six second-half possessions, including 2 that started in UNC territory, we never went more than 33 yards, and put no points on the board.

By contrast, North Carolina had 5 drives of 67 yards or more.

Now, you can try all you want to spin that in a positive way, but in no way, shape or form did we have a good offensive performance against North Carolina.

lsu has done well every year...

Exactly. You consider going 7-5 in the regular season, beating some overrated ACC team in the Peach Bowl and finishing the season unranked "doing well". I don't.

As long as your standards are low enough, anyone can do "well".
quote:

since you showing how hard you are why dont you go and do better?

Honestly, you could put a cardboard cutout of a head coach on the sideline and still go 7-5 with the talent LSU has.

Or how about you just use what works? Don't "spread the wealth" just for the sake of doing so. It wasn't UNC who stopped RS on Saturday, it was LM/GC/FW.

Right, and I'll give you that. My assertion of spreading the wealth would be to run the things that put LSU up so dominantly in the 2nd quarter for the 2nd half. I would have liked to see some of the other players that we've all been so high on and see what they do.

I definitely wouldn't want to move away from utilizing Shep; however, I would have liked to see some of the others.
