I would like a MLS team more, but I think a MLB team would be more succesful.

Very hard to say. If you look at average attendance, I don't think NOLA would get there in either sport, but would be closer to MLS' average than MLB's. However, I don't think they'd be close enough to make the franchise successful.

I think the soccer team would do better. The diehard Astros and Braves fans may not be quick to switch allegiances plus you're assuming LSU baseball fans will support them.

which is a bad assumption because most LSU baseball fans aren't baseball fans, they're LSU fans

To make a MLB team successful it would take a lot more fan attendance on average than a MLS team, so the answer would be MLS but i would rather a MLB team.
