I see it like this:
If LSU beats UNC and goes on to an undefeated season, UNC's status won't matter, LSU will be in the BCSCG.
If LSU beats UNC and goes on to lose to Alabama and Florida, LSU will be out of the NC picture, and probably out of the SECC picture and the win over UNC won't have any bearing on LSU's chances for the SECC.
If LSU loses to UNC and goes on to win all of its SEC games, the loss to UNC won't matter with regard to the SECC.
If LSU loses to UNC AND loses to Alabama and Florida - who cares?
In short, one game does not a season make, and LSU has bigger fish to fry than UNC - win or lose.
