wow .. just find hardly anyone talking about this game around BR ... everyone seems to be talking about the saints-vikings game ... i know UNC possibly having half their team ruled ineligible for the game and the game taken off the big board doesn't help .. but it isn't like LSU is opening up against SW Illinois A&M or anything ... don't really hear people counting down until kickoff or anything ... looks like the "wait and see" mode is in full swing ..

People are still buzzing over the Super Bowl and Brett Favre coming back for some reason is still big news. I wouldn't worry too much when 9/4 comes around Tiger Nation will be pumped up

i certainly hope so ... you'd hope one huge saints season couldn't trump what has been the best decade of football ever at LSU with two NCs, 3 SEC titles, 4 SECCGs, 4 NFL first round picks in one draft, etc. ..

it's ashame you can't reverse that emoticon .. it looks like people are diving off of the bandwagon on the tigers end ... shite .. look at all the tickets for the UNC game for sale on the ticket exchange and the gobs in the LSU sections for sale on ebay ...

it's anticipated, but it's also hesitated

i dont have a feel for this team....at all

i will venture a guess that i'm in the majority when i feel like this season will either be really good or really bad, and we'll know it early on

As a die hard fan I can definitely say that im just as excited, if not more, this year. I think the fact that we are playing a decent team and we don't yet know how good we are, all add to the excitement.

you hit it on the head .. people aren't ignoring it .. they are just keeping a little of the exuberance to themselves and taking the wait/see approach .. i think a lot of people are genuinely nervous about this game (although UNC losing a chunk of it's roster might quell that a bit) because they feel like this first game almost makes or breaks the season like the days when we used to open every year with texas a&m ..

I don't know about that, we have a huge Krewe making the trip to ATL............I do feel the vibe amongst many that they actually believe the Tigers are as bad as the media says they are..............

You do realize that we sold 27,000 tickets to a game that is 600 miles away from BR - the largest out of state ticket purchase ever for LSU, so I think a lot of us are really pumped but curious about how good we will be this year. The Saints season was a once in a lifetime story ( remember our 2003 NC after 45 years) and so the after glow will linger for at least another 11 days.

I think it may be the most anticipated opening game in a decade. Don't know where you are getting this feeling from, but there are a lot of Tiger fans anxiously awaiting this game to prove to the rest of the nation that LSU should not be picked fourth in the West. I can't wait till Friday morning gets here, so I can start my trip to Atlanta.
