How does Flacco fit into this discussion?
He's better than both Henne and Ryan IMO. Won 2 playoff games as a rookie, and has had a positive TD:INT ratio in both of his years.
It helps him to have had a top 3 defense in both years, though. He'll have a great career.

braylon edwards? in college? not really
he was beast mode

Big time schools with pro style offenses are going to have playmaker WR's.
but i mean literally
he'd throw it up to edwards his freshman season and edwards would go up and get it. if they couldn't rely on that, they didn't pass it that well. mostly real short shite
the same pattern emerged with manningham, but it was the tedd ginn specialtiy fly route

i think he is, and will be. now he's got a legit #1 WR now to go with his great RB (which ryan had his rookie year)

Marino's rookie stats are pretty good considering attempts and starts and all. He curbstomped the league his second year.

I think the Ravens have a very realistic shot to make it to the Super Bowl this year.

I remember it being the opposite - he regressed in the pros.

i agree
braylon was one of those "unstoppable" WRs

y'all are remembering it wrong

I remember very vividly. I followed his career in college. I remember seeing him drop the ball a ton.

ETA: a good friend of mine is a huge Michigan fan and I always made fun of him when we'd watch games and he would drop balls

He also possess big hands, and has the ability to make the spectacular catches, but drops plagued him much of his college career.

NEGATIVES: Not always mentally on top of his game, loses focus or takes his eye off the ball.

Weaknesses: Will drop a lot of catchable balls as he seems to lose concentration and focus at times..

Henne cost them the '05 Rose Bowl.

Sure it wasn't the defense that let Vince drag his nuts all over them?

there wasn't much D played in that game

Last night on Hard Knocks Mary Schottenheimer said if you can get a 2nd year QB to perform exactly the same as he did his rookie year, then you've made major progress.
Most coaches expect 2nd year QB's to perform the same or a little worse because they give them much more slack and responsibilities.

Henne always had a lot of physical talent and an NFL arm. He just seemed a bit mentally soft, which was a Lloyd Carr coaching problem more than anything. I don't think it's really that big of a shock that he's preformed pretty well in the pros

I always thought Henne would be a good NFL qb. He's big and has a cannon. His real coming out party was the bowl game with Florida. They had no answer for Henne that day.
Ill put him and Ryan in a dead heat so far. Personally Ive got Flacco behind them. He plays on a great team and doesnt turn it over much but I say put him as starter on a poor team and he is below average. JMO

It's not like that wasn't a common problem for Michigan teams under Lloyd though. It seems like more a coaching issue than a Henne issue
