1. The man has a knack for knowing when to call fake kicks. I've never seen anyone come close.
2. Excellent recruiter (which is job #1 for a college coach)
3. He has shown the ability to learn from his mistakes. A couple examples: 1) after RP and high attrition on the OL, he's pretty much stuck to recruits without any character issues, and 2) after the Maleveto fiasco, he came back with an all-star defensive cast.
Quite frankly, he's running out of mistakes to make. In another year or two he'll be perfect.

The "Have a great day" press conference.
He said he wasn't leaving after ESPN said he was leaving. Some media guys still said he'd leave after he said it because it was his dream job. They said he'd wait until after the SEC Championship. It was a done deal, etc.
He didn't leave. F### you ESPN.
I can be very critical of him, but most coaches would have left. Others would have just let the rumors swirl if they had a championship game to play that day.
And then we went and won the SEC with a backup QB and with Dorsey basically out of the game. We followed it up by spanking Ohio State for a national championship.
So as critical as I am of him at times, that was some great stuff.

Yup, and I'll bring it up on September 4th, and September 25th, and October 9th, October 23rd, November 6th.....
Just have your excuses ready as to why you were wrong Elleshoe. And don't bring any of the tired, "SEC is stronger than the ACC, Alabama's defense didn't return from last year, Urban Meyer had a nervous breakdown" junk either.
