I am reading Sean Payton's book and it is very good. I have been a fan forever and have never thought about why the Saints colors were black and gold. They are because the first owner John Mecom was an oil man, black gold, Texas Tea.........Go .........maybe everyone new this but i did not

a little known fact on the Saints colors is that the black is called "tar ball black"
