Watching on Encore. Did this movie set the modern standard for blatant sexuality for modern cinema? I will use some examples.

1. Bond is interrupted during a tryst with a non-committed female and consumates said tryst.

2. SPECTRE recruiting scene with Colonel Klempt with obvious lesbian overtones.

3. Gypsy catfight showing all that is allowed at the time.

4. Bond after the shoot-out with Bulgarians having to pick the winner of the cat fight. He can't pick and in the morning an obvious threesome had taken place.

4. Back to the hotel in Istanbul and an obvious bare arse is seen from that hot Russian babe.

I venture to say that this movie changed the way sexuality was been portrayed on the big screen.

From Russia with Love is one of my favorite Bond movies. It was way better than Dr. No, which was the first Bond movie.

I can't really deicide if I liked it or Goldfinger more.

I didn't pick up on any of those.

Robert Shaw was a great Bond villian in that movie. That was a great fight scene between him and Connery.

Eta: Speakin of Shaw, i'm watchin him give his USS Indianapolis story on Jaws right now. To shaw:

Goldfinger is my favorite bond movie but this is my second fave.

Goldfinger just has the most classic line in the series: "No, Mr. James, I expect you to die"

I think the dialogue of Goldfinger is much better, but From Russia With Love is such a complete action/thriller, not that Goldfinger wasn't, but I also tend to see Goldfinger as the beginning of the "kitchiness" of the series.
