Penn State is not going to open the checkbook and pay the going rate for an elite coach, so it isn't going to be as appealing as it would appear on the surface.

Pennsylvania is loaded with high school talent and there are no legit instate competitors. On top of that, they are the only top tier school in the entire northeast. Unless a Big 10 school comes east or VT goes north, PSU really should have their pick of New York and New Jersey talent as well.

The fan support is great and I believe they have good facilities. Really, the systemic factors in favor of Penn St put them among the top five jobs in the country. There's almost no excuse NOT to go at least 9-3 every year. People bitch about that at LSU, and PSU is even better set up than LSU. I think it is a great, great job.

Tom Bradley has really been the head coach since 2005. Every Penn St fan I know credits Joe Pa stepping down and letting Bradley be the coach for there resurgence
