Interesting comments on Miles contract on Ott's show

Lazare from tigerbait was on. He says that although Miles has not been rolled over, the contract length signed in 2007 was for 7 years, not 5. So after this year, Miles has 4 years left on his deal, and any buyout would be 4 * 3.5 or 14 million.
With all of the debate about rolled over or not and numbers to buy out, just thought I'd throw that out there for those who didn't hear it.

Who were the Board of Supervisors approved that contract? Their names and pictures should be on public display along side other great LSU figures.

I not know about that stuff, I just hope Matty can get his stuff back together for this next year we need him back at closer again. With AR coming back and Zack Lee coming in we are going to have a great staff. Looks good right now for a great year coming to the fall.

I believe the buyout amount is on the amount owed to him by the university. That is not the TAF or personal services money which make up the majority of his contract.

The contract he signed was for 5 years, it has been posted here numerous times. Lazare claims someone in the athletic department told him he signed a two year extension immediately after signing the new 5 year contract. This two year extension, while it could exist, is not found as part of the contract that USA today published (even though every other extension and rollover is documented).

Which is why I posted originally, the 2 year extension was news to me. I guess the bottom line is nobody but Les, LSU, and the attorneys know for sure.
