I have a feeling that LSU is going to put an absolute beating on the Tarheels of North Carolina.

I am just getting a good feeling about that game. I think they start fast and never look back. The opener last year in Seattle was wet, a long way from home and in a tough environment.

Atlanta is dry, fast and familiar.

Note: I am a "negatiger", or so I am told, and think Miles is in over his head...I just have a good feeling about this game.

Think it will be a close game, but LSU will win.

Think LSU wins a real competitive game: 31-21.

Our boys have got to be fired up about this one.

I think we win, especially given that one or two of their starters is likely to be suspended. Besides winning, I hope we play close to 60 minutes of good, well-executed football against UNC.

41-14 we'll look as good as UF did vs Ohio State. Our ends are going to terrorize UNC's backfield and our Db's will pick off any bad passes. I have a feeling that our offense will have big plays in the passing game and that we'll run for 95+.

I figure a 21 - 10 win for us.

I just don't see them really scoring. So 10 points is even a stretch in my eyes, but well, stuff happens.

I'm seeing a defensive battle.

Here's a quarter by quarter break down of the game just in case some of you can't see it:

1st Qtr: UNC wins toss and defers to the second half. LSU's Patrick Peterson receives the opening kickoff 5 yards in our own end zone, however, he tries to run the ball out but is told to kneel it. Unfortunately, he kneels it on the 1 yard line

Crowton dials up an option play with Jefferson and Murphy to the short side of the field. Jefferson makes a poor decision to pitch the ball and Murphy is knocked out of bounds from our own end zone giving UNC a safety.

The rest of the quarter is defensive battle between two great defenses.

2nd and 3rd Quarter: All defense, both teams struggling to move the ball.

4th Quarter: After great displays of disciplined and talented defenses, the end of the game is approaching with UNC having a 2-0 lead with 20 seconds on the clock. LSU fields a punt at their own 20 yard line by Patrick Peterson. He fails to elude any tacklers at LSU starts at the its own 20. With no time outs remaining (all 3 were used in the beginning of the 3rd quarter) Crowton tries a run up the middle with a tired Ridley. Ridley gets a no gain on the play as LSU fans around the country sign on to Tiger Droppings to call for Miles and Crowton's jobs. To their further dismay, Les elects to send out Jasper for a 97 yard field goal attempt. This just further irritates LSU fans on the rant as they use their favorite anti-LSU emoticon ( ). However, to LSU fans delight, Jasper nails the kick and breaks the record for longest field goal in ncaa history.

Tigers win 3-2.

These last 2 seasons have made me very nervous for this opening game because none of us have a clue as to which team is gonna show up

Since im going to this game its going to be even more frustrating if its the s.o.s. of the last 2 seasons. On the flipside, if we come out with an attitude and swagger its going to be a great experience

LSU 24
UNC 13

I think it helps set the tone for the year when you play a tough game as a season oppener. You know the team is busting their arse right now to get ready for this game. They can't sit back and wait a couple of games to get in the groove, they have to bring it from day 1 and I think that is a good thing.

Interesting point. It certainly should get a team up to speed and ready for business—more so than playing a cupcake.
