suggestions to les miles on speaking

1. action verbs are not your enemy. instead of having a want to win the game, just want to win the game.
2. the word 'sincere'- look it up. it does not mean what you think it does, nor is it as all-encompassing an adjective as you make it out to be. suggested substitutes,: significant, vicious, ferocious, terrific, etc.
3. Perhaps the best interview technique is not to impose on the interviewers personal space, loud talk, then gesticulate wildly.
4. Realize the way you speak sets an example for your STUDENT athletes. If these kids wrote the way you talk, they would/should fail their English classes.
5. just answer the damned question and stop trying to fit in your jargon when addressing any and all topics.

I agree. I totally ignore Coach Miles when he speaks, I don't care anymore and don't put anything into what he says, its all rhetoric. Just win.

when you make asinine game decisions (e.g. ole miss, tennessee 05'- among many) and then sound like an idiot, it doesnt inspire confidence to recruits and fans that anymore championships will be forthcoming.

also, i dont think what im suggesting is unreasonable or very difficult to do. so, why not just speak semi-well. i wouldnt care except that his speech is just f@#ing painful.

Suggestions to CLM on speaking...don't.

For whats it worth, and i know too many on here its not worth a dime, but ive spoken to Coach Miles numerous amounts of times in the last 5 years. He is one of the most intelligent men Ive had the privilege of speaking with. Yeah he has problems speaking to the public...who cares? Ive seen first hand the way he talks to his players and his staff, and I assure you they would not want anyone else in that locker room.

what are your credentials to be able to suggest how Miles should speak. Why is his use of the word 'want' so complicated to so many posters?

And yet if those decisions would have turned over a successful ending..he'd be a hero.

This reminds me of the daily rhetoric about the way Bush spoke from a few years back.
It really bothers yall that much, huh?

Unfortunately, they didn't. He can win back the fan base with a successful season though. Doubt anyone will still believe a word he says however.

Miles makes 3.7 mil. How much do you maggots make? When you have the kind of job he does, then give him advice.

my credentials are simply that i am a person who speaks english.
and if he is in fact intelligent and well-spoken, what the hell is he doing talking like that? whats he driving at?
i dont dislike the man- i think he seems like an upstanding and good person. his speech is just vomit inducing though. theres not many people that inspire a WTF response when they speak. he happens to be one of the few. as the head coach of lsu, i would hope he would at least make a small effort at speaking normally.

it bothers me because i enjoy lsu football and watch his interviews as a fan. i want him to represent lsu well. frankly though, as a person id like to see him succeed and i cringe when he talks because its just so damned strange.

Speaking is so important... look at Saban. He needs to take a damn class or something.

I'd say take a cue from Frank Wilson, just listened to six minute or so interview with Wilson and he was great!

I love all you guys who take delight in thinking you have the ability to criticize and feel superior to a man who makes about 4 million a year and has eclipsed just about any on this board unless Saban is a regular viewer. Does he have his faults and make mistakes? Sure. But he is where he is and you are where you are. When he wants to talk LSU football, he does it with a microphone whereas you turds use a message board. Hilarious.
