His analysis is not better or worse than the rest of us, yet he gets paid to do it?
Not that I disagree with what he says, but what exactly does he add?

It appears that the majority of the media are just other "ranters."

Guilbeau has always been a shite stirrer. He was when he was in Alabama and he is now. He believes that being controversal can make up for his lack of journalistic talent.

He believes being controversial gets him attention.
And he's right, it does

This is true.
He was in Bama for a good while and took the same approach with the Gumps. They nearly killed him before they ran him out of the state.

National sportswriters tend to have the most talent and most of them deserve the jobs they have. But by definition, when your beat is the whole country, you tend to miss a few things beneath the surface.
This is funny!!!

Well...he proved to be right about one thing. The national media has more talent.

The majority of the media is no more qualified regarding football knowledge than the average fan. Many have never even put on a chin strap.

I am a supporter of Miles. Following is the text of an email I sent to Guilbeau today in response to his article about Miles in the Hot Seat:
**************************************************
Glen, you are right! Miles is on the hot seat. Should he be? No! Are the fans on his case? Yes! Is it about process? Yes! He has made some coaching blunders, especially in last year's Ole Miss game. The question is can he fix it? I say yes. In fact, clock management late in the Arkansas game was in stark contrast to the Ole Miss debacle.
The question is, if he has a great season this year, will you get off his back? Will you stop with the "Sabans' players" theme that you have used so many times in the past? That is old news and not necessarily even pertinent anyway. You obviously love Saban. In fact, I am sure the Alabama fans love him also. Alabama has been a great team (when they didn't lose to ULM).
However let's compare. First my thoughts about Saban:
1. He has an attitude! He talks down to fans. He talks down to the media. He is a narcissist.
2. He wins by intimidation! He intimidates his players. His players are scared to death to take a play off. He intimidates the officials.
3. He has a huge temper and shows it by berating players in front of the world and throwing down his headphones every time he gets upset.
You think Saban is a great coach. Ask Michigan State. He had one good season out of five. In 1999, he went 9-2.
1995 6-5-1
1996 6-6
1997 7-5
1998 6-6
His record in bowl games at Michigan State 0-3, all by double digit margins.
At LSU, he had some success, however, what about:
2000 Blowout by Auburn 34-17; loss to UAB
2002 Loss to Va Tech 26-8; Lost 4 of the last 6
2004 (following natl championship) 9-3; Slaughtered by Georgia 45-16
Miles - Players love and respect him. Recruits love and respect him. He has integrity, runs a clean program and is decisive in handing out discipline, even when it hurts the team (Perrilloux). He is good with the media and fans alike.
Back off and give the man a chance. If the QB situation improves, we may all be amazed with LSU's success in 2010.

from everything i have heard, we are in trouble at this position. JJ has made zero progress and Lee is still Lee, but we are stacked at RB and defense should be really good.
