we should be happy at least drawing in our away fixtures, cus yeah, more than likely we'll rip them up in the Emirates.

gettin' geeked for this weekend. blackburn will provide a good challenge, I think. i pray that cesc rvp and song can go for 60-70. i'd love to see us rise to full strength. kills me that nasri is absent.

also pumped to get a good look at StuHawk in two weeks against Bolton.

woooo! /sets coffee maker to drip (too) early (for a Saturday)

Brief Blackburn preview

Stats:
56% - Blackburn have the lowest pass completion rate in the Premier League this season, whilst Arsenal have the highest (87%). Antithesis. [via opta]

Arsene Wenger has only won one of eight league matches (the 1st in 2002) as a coach away from home against a Sam Allardyce team - W1 D3 L4. [via orbinho]

Random rumors:
quote:

He said “It is now closed!” and then added “Domestically,” which would suggest that there is absolutely no chance of Mark Schwarzer arriving from Fulham now.

We all know how cagey Wenger is when it comes to his transfer dealings, but his suggestion that it was still okay to buy from Italy has been taken on board, especially as there was another little known announcement made yesterday. Federico Marchetti’s Cagliari have just bought goalkeeper Ivan Pelizzoli from Lokomotiv Moscow, suggesting that Marchetti is still going to get his wish after asking for a transfer last month.

interest in Lille shot stopper Mickael Landreau

Eduardo on his return to the Emirates with Shakhtar:
quote:

"This is a wonderful draw for me. I owe the Arsenal supporters so much. It will be very special to go back to London and see them.

"But if I score then I don't think I will celebrate out of respect for Arsenal. I feel sad that my injury meant it was difficult to be at my best for them.

"I will always be grateful to Arsene Wenger for the chance he gave me. It helped me become a better player, man and professional.

FourFourTwo Braga profile Check out the writeups on Moisés, Sílvio, Matheus,& Lima, the Brazilian quartet most likely to give us problems.

Finally, one of the very few Arsenal blogs worth reading consistently, Arsenal Column, breaks down our defense within the perspective of "modern football": LINK

***Bonus*** (b/c I didnt want to start a new thread for this; it has nothing to do with Arsenal):

I have been waiting for Quaresma to play up to his potential for years now, he does have some durrty highlights though.

For freaks sake Wenger, are you content with simply finishing top 4? Unless Almunia and Kos play out of their minds no way we get silverware this season.

I feel like we always draw away in the CC. I have no factual proof to back that up really, just feeling. It makes no sense that two PL teams should play in the third round of the CC. Baptism by fire for our young boys. I felt pretty optimistic about our CC chances with Frimpong, but now that Eastmond (I assume) will be our CC DM, I have some concerns. Not that I don't like Eastmond, he just isn't an enforcer.

We could be out early in the CC if Spurs decide to field an experienced side. No Beowulf available until the end of Sept. so he's a no go for this match. Maybe Vela and JET up top? Wilshere and Gibbs will play. Probably Aneke. Afobe on the bench in some capacity. Norveidt will probably play too.

Also RvP out at least two weeks with a twisted ankle.

at least RvP has an international break to rest up on. maybe weekend after next he'll be match fit? /crosses fingahs

via john cross, Mirror writer (yall should follow him on twitter if you haven't already, huge arsenal fan): #Fulham keeper Schwarzer on Sun night: 'I'm biding my time waiting for things to happen and then I'll be on move - if you see what I mean.'

Arsenal Columns analysis of the Blackburn game. Again, not to give the guy too much credit, but it's nice to see a freelancer (an arsenal fan, most importantly) write with such quality. Not some knob job that writes up droll player rankings.

here are some vague pics from the incident:

That was like two years ago, so he was a mature 20 years old. Man Beowulf is only 22, we still got eight years of him slaying women and backlines in his prime.

Van Persie out 3 weeks. Jesus the season has barely started and the injuries are mounting.
