LSU in there. Has he visited yet? I know he's visited SC and Bama, but if he hasn't visited us yet and he's got us in the top 3, then :lock: youve got to like our chances.

He said in an interview that SC and Bama were his top 2 only because he has been there. He did mention LSU has a place he will take a OV this fall.

he is definately favoring USCe &Bama right now:

quote:

Clowney said USC and Alabama are ahead of Clemson, Florida State and LSU. Clowney visited USC unofficially Friday with his mother. He said his mother enjoyed her first visit to the school. Clowney visited Alabama earlier in the summer. He will take his official visits before announcing his decision at the Under Armour All-American Game in January.

also a Ronnie Martin update here:
quote:

Defensive back Ronnie Martin (5-10, 175) of Spartanburg was at Georgia’s camp Friday and will be at Florida’s camp this Friday. Spartanburg coach Freddie Brown said Georgia is close to offering Martin. He has offers from USC, Nebraska, LSU, Illinois and Colorado. Brown said USC has been coming on strong with Martin and he may take an unofficial visit there soon. Alabama, Nebraska and LSU remain factors, according to Brown. Martin has also visited Alabama and LSU.

LSU still in on Lyons (with 14 other teams):
quote:

Highly regarded defensive back Wayne Lyons (6-0, 185) of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., has cut a list of 49 offers to 14: USC, Stanford, Notre Dame, Ole Miss, LSU, Miami, Florida, Florida State, Michigan, Vanderbilt, Nebraska, Auburn, South Florida and UCLA

Only cuz those are the only two colleges he has visited. We just need to make sure we get him on campus and we'll be right in there with Bama. I still think USCe lands him though

also a Ronnie Martin update here:

I really want this kid. You can't teach someone speed. You can teach someone with speed the right techniques. With Ron Cooper coaching the secondary, I can see something special out of this kid.

You gotta love how this guy gets to 15 teams from FORTY NINE offers. It's not like he's being offered by smaller colleges as well. Any big time college you can think of, has offered the kid

He's mentioned distance being a factor multiple times and we're the furthest away of his "top 3".

It's not impossible if he's blown away on his visit, don't expect it and can't get excited about it though.

I think he wants to be part of a special Defense, that's why LSU is still somewhat in the conversation. But I really like the Mingo/Montgomery combo for LSU. I think those guys are 3 year starters on the edges.
