If you are using dry yeast, rehydrate it by boiling 4 oz of water. Let water cool to 80 degrees. Add yeast and let sit for 10 min. stir and add to carboy w/ wort already in it. Shake the hell out of the carboy w/ cap off for a minute. Cap, add air lock. I use liquid yeast that comes in a pouch. You slap the pouch which breaks an internal seal and let the pouch sit for an hour. The pouch swells up and you open it and add to the carboy and wort.

Saw someone online use this method. glad to see you advise it as well. I'll definitely apply that bit of useful info.
