Here's a couple suggestions -
If you're college aged or just graduated, get up here on Thursday night and go to the Melrose Pub 2 for 1.
On Friday night, if you're 20-26ish, go to the Midtown cluster of bars - The Red Door, Broadway Brewhouse Midtown, Loser's. You'll then likely end up on Demonbreum, with a strip of bars (Dan McGuiness, Tin Roof, Closing Bell) I hate but most people love.
A great family place to eat that's local (and really good, no matter what you order) is McCabe's Pub on Murphy Rd in Sylvan Park. Family owned and run, really nice folks who love to talk sports.
The best upscale Italian in the city is across the street at Cafe Nona, a very quiet neighborhood bistro vibe with absolutely amazing food.
Also, one thing missing from your list - if you're buying beer in bulk, or a keg, I suggest Frougal McDougal's, a beer/liquor warehouse off 8th Avenue downtown.
If you want a true musical experience, go to The Station Inn in the Gulch (12th Avenue). It doesn't matter what night, it will be great. Some of the best newgrass/bluegrass in the world.
The best Mexican in town is Rose Pepper's Cantina on Eastland Avenue in East Nashville. It's a hike from downtown and the Vandy area, though.
If you're a beer fanatic, we have a Flying Saucer (10th Avenue behind the Union Station Hotel), which is similar to the one in Memphis. Another solid beer destination is 12th South Taproom, (12th Ave S).
Also, the local brew of note is YAZOO. They just moved their brewery and its pub into the Gulch area (12th South). Haven't been yet.
If you want a really, really unique bar experience, turn off your cell phone and put on some decent clothes, and go to The Patterson House. It's modeled after the classic upscale speakeasies of the Prohibition Era. It has no sign (off Division in Midtown), so ask around. Go there for one cocktail (everything is served, created, etc., with traditional bartending methods). It's worth it.
