Saban would eat Less's children while Less watched and did nothing.

He had less talent at alabama the last two years and he goes undefeated in two regular seasons.

Don't forget the last 2 years were considered "down" years in the SEC. (See Auburn, Georgia, Tennessee and arguably LSU)

Remember in 2002 we were 5-1 and mauck got hurt late against Florida. Had to go with Marcus Randall.

Quite possibly the most ignorant thread in the history of this board.

And that's saying....A LOT!!!

Say what you want. He did something no one has done since Paul D. in 58. He won a NC.

You are rahtardud.

Anyone that reaches the pinnacle of what they do, is not an UNDERachiever.

When you are a competitor, and you chose to measure yourself against the best coaches and athletes in the collegiate football world, sometimes you lose. Sometimes you lose to teams that are a sliver less talented, it happens in the world of athletics.

I am not a Saban or Miles lover or hater. I do however, love to look up and see two national championship banners above Tiger Stadium!! I will be damned if I discredit ANYONE who brought us to the top of our beloved sport.

or maybe Saban isn't a better coach now, maybe he is just at the premiere program in the conference?

With one of the best offenses in LSU history, the SEC title, and our first top ten finish in years.

Saban goes 8-5 in 2002

2002 wasn't as bad as people make it. This was the year our defense started playing excellent. Started off 6-1, then things went to shite when Mauck got hurt (yes it was Saban's fault for leaving him in) and James left the team. LSU was still a miracle pass away from making the SEC Championship. Although I do blame Saban for that Arkansas game, not for putting in a prevent defense (cause that was the right call) but for not going for the first down and running the clock out, kicking a FG instead and giving the ball back to Ark.

Saban goes 9-3 in 2004.

One loss was to a 14-0 Auburn team and one was to a UGA team that executed perfectly, I don't think Saban cared about Iowa, he shouldn't have coached that game anyway. I also find it funny that you left out the 2003 National Championship year. To say Saban underachieved here is retarded. I'm not a Saban lover, but he changed the whole mindset of this football program and installed a winning attitude. Just because he wasn't perfect doesn't mean shite. The LSU program is a hell of a lot better now thanks to Saban. It's Miles job to maintain that winning attitude. I hope he is able to do it.
