Kevin Durant is a throwback to your father's NBA

He's one of the few guys that you can honestly see that loves his profession and is totally obessed with it. He has that Bird, Magic, Jordan, Zeke drive for greatness.
We see him at the Draft Lottery, he shows up the NBA draft, and he sits in the general population. Then he's in orlando, coaching his teammates at the summer league games.
His passion for the game is truly evident. Hes a definitely a throwback player.
This OKC team reminds me of the SAC teams of the early 2000s. Those guys love to play the game and to play together.
Its refreshing to see a star that realizes that his profession, and winning, will ultimately lead to his fame outside the basketball court (cough Lebron cough)

LOL.
Classic.
Hey let's make a post to hate on Lebron, but disguise it, when I really have ZERO basis for the reason I'm hating on Lebron.
Nice.

I heard Lebron aborts babies in his free time.

I heard he killed Natalee Holloway.

I think Durant cares more about the game than Lebron. Lebron cares more about Nike and Gatorade than the trophy.

i heard if you leave a tooth under your pillow, he leaves you a dollar.

That's cool, but I think there is ZERO basis for that line of thinking.
Who knows who cares more. I just think that none of us people who aren't "in the know" have any idea and there is no basis for it, IMO.

Sure isn't much basis. But I know one is a primadonna and one isn't. I like Durant's skill set better. I like his upside. I like his approach to the game.

Kobe is a primadonna, he still seems to be a hard worker.

Completely disagree there. He'll never be as well rounded as Lebron.

Durant is definitely a throwback.

Michael Jordan
Jordan was pimping Nike, Gatorade, AND McDonald's and was WAY more visible than Lebron ever thought about being as far as endorsements go. And he made a damn Looney Tunes movie. This whole notion that you can't care about 2 things at the same time is beyond fricking retarded. But keep hating haters. You are so

LeBron isn't exactly well-rounded unless you consider "driving recklessly into the lane like a bull in a china shop and expect the refs to bail you out every single time" being "well rounded".
LeBron also gets lazy quite frequently and does that "let me pretend that I'm going to drive any second, but everybody in the building knows that what I'm really going to do is dribble out the last 9 seconds of this quarter and launch a 24 foot 3-pointer at the buzzer."
LeBron is more of a physical specimen than Durant but I think Durant is on pace to develop a prettier more complete game. He obviously has a much better franchise and team around him than LeBron.

Unless you're just hating for the sake of hating, why would you automatically assume that's his primary motivation because he said that?
I also wonder why the OP has MJ on the list of throwback players. Wouldn't he be completely opposite?

Michael Jordan was a cold-blooded assassin. Michael Jordan was miserable every offseason unless he won a title.
LeBron James is currently having the time of his life flirting with teams like a teenage girl after the most disgraceful playoff appearance of his young career.

No way. Jordan is as throwback as it gets. None of this grab-assing with his "superstar friends" and holding gay arse "summits" to see who is more BFF with who. fricking weak. Kobe is the closest thing to Jordan in this regard. He like Mike probably pukes at the primadonna BFFs holding summits and having sleepovers and getting mani/pedis together at 1am.

LOL. What???
He's sure as hell more well rounded then Durant.
Better passer
Better rebounder
Better on ball defender
Better off ball defender
Higher fg%
How u think KD is more well rounded is beyond me?

Durant is still a work in progress. LeBron hasn't improved much since the best moment of his career four seasons ago when he led the Cavs to the Finals.
Durant isn't better than LeBron and never will be, but he will definitely win more titles. Some of that is the luck of being drafted by a great organization but some of it (like Kobe and MJ) will be because basketball is #1 in his life and not being a Sex in the City girl like LeBron is.

Yea cause demanding a trade the first time in your career you have a hint of struggles just screams of NOT being a primadonna.
Haters gonna hate i guess.
