Watching the cws, and you're going to be a division 1 caliber baseball player. Would seeing all the references or mentions of LSU make you really consider that program? (assuming you didn't grow up a tiger.)

How much do you think this benefits LSU?

Benefits LSU big time...

Couple that with the fan support for the team and the amazing facilities....if I played college baseball, it would be LSU

Probably, but I'd have to see what they'd be doing come commitment time. Our title in 2009 and the fact that we play the best competition in the country would be draws as well as having CPM.

I think it really takes a team bing at the CWS to have much impact on a prospective player. That said, unless some kid is deadseat on going to a particular college, having grown up following that team, IMO LSU has to be a consideration of most kids, given its history.

Yep. Coupled that with the fact that LSU baseball is where kids even here want to play. When I attend college fairs I get more questions from kids that play baseball. Of course I tell them I can't talk about it with them but give them the information about the university and whom to contact.

Yep, it helps so much that we couldnt send Rosenblat out with a holler. Oh we didnt get there did we?

Seriously, it has to help, but a lot of good/developing players dont cut it at LSU. Some sit the bench, then wait and transfer. Well... you get the point.

It's on coach to make the right moves.

LIKE frickING BUNT WITH A RUNNER ON 2ND AND NO OUTS NEEDING ONE RUN TO TIE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dont get me starting, Im drinking.

Yeah, it wasn't a great year for us, but hopefully our pitching will improve and our bunting.

I know I love seeing all the references to and clips of LSU at the CWS!! But seriously, any positive exposure, especially on the biggest stage in the sport, is great exposure and has to get kids from other areas thinking about the program. I think my kid would commit tomorrow if they offered him (not that they will but I can dream can't I!). Having multiple titles, a great coach, great facilities and the largest crowds (translation, rabid fans) anywhere in college baseball are great attractions too.

Huge benfits...

These references make LSU appear to be the greatest all time college baseball program... And truthfully they are, in the modern era (last 2 decades)

LSU is the school for college baseball. Just like NC or Duke or Kentucky is for basketball and Bama, Florida etc is for football.

Kids want to go there based off of tradition and fan support alone.

A ton. There's a junior (gonna be senior) at the school I just graduated from who's one of the best baseball players in his class in the country (he won MVP of the tournament for the U-16 American team last summer in Taiwan or something) who I know was highly considering LSU, mainly cause of their prestige and fanbase. I think he eliminated LSU after a visit that didn't go too well (I'm not sure about this, so don't quote me, he might still be considering the Tigers, that's just what I had heard) but that basically says it all. OSU's not even on his radar, mainly because it's anywhere from the 4th-6th most popular sport at the school, depending on opinion/who you ask, and hardly anyone cares.

UF does not belong on that list of schools, but I get what you're saying and agree.

They belong more so than Notre Dame.

If any kid vists during a heated rivalry weekend, seeing how we pack one of the nicest stadiums in the country and the facilities that he would have access too, I don't see how he could say no. You can't tell me any kid worth his free nike's wouldn't want to play in front of our crowds, go to a school where the women wear shorts 85% of the school year, and could catch high quality football in the offseason. Match that with the prestige and the connections he could make while here and I don't think a recruit says no

Based on "tradition and fan support", no. ND blows UF out of the water based on that. And I wasn't even thinking about Notre Dame (mainly due to their recent struggles, though they do perfectly define kids wanting to go there for tradition and fan support) but schools like Texas, Ohio State, and Michigan.
