Any word on the beaches at Perdido Key?

I don't know about 'word' but there is a lot of oil on the beach.

I'm going there for the 4th so I've been doing some recon and it seems that oil is washing up. A friend got to Perdido Key a few days ago and said that a few people were coming out of the water with some oil on them.
I would imagine its fine to sit on the beach though, providing that it doesn't smell like a 5 Minute Oil Change.
