I would still put it more on line play, than the running backs.

When your going lateral at the line of scrimmage that makes it so much easier for the LB to make that play
Successful running is when you get to that second level quick and then the DB are forced into run support.
LSU was going lateral and the LB fed into that and were able to snuff it out or hem them in on the sideline negating the long gains

It wasn't just the o-line, the fullback going the right way is important too. If anyone remembers Ridley at the end of the LA Tech game when he ran the ball all the way down the field....well, the first play from scrimmage he is almost tackled in the end zone because Parsons went left instead of right. Even if the hole is there, if the fullback doesn't pick up the linebacker, he will just fill the hole and make the tackle.
