Sort of like the kidnapper "saves" the victim by setting her free after he gets paid the ransom.

There ought to be at least 9 really pissed off universities in that conference this morning.

Nah. Most of the schools are very happy.

Baylor is very happy because it avoided relegation to the Sun Belt Conference, if not the FCS ranks.
Iowa State was looking at hoping to get into the MAC. Same possibly for K-State.
Kansas is glad that it didn't have to up more $$$ for travel as the newest roundball member of the Big East or maybe even the ACC.
Mizzou is glad that it didn't end up homeless after begging for a Big 10++ invite that never showed up in the mail.
Tech and OSU are glad not to be relegated to the WAC or CUSA ranks.
OU is relieved that UT didn't end the Red River Shootout, which would have cut off its supply of Texas recruits. And getting parity with UT on TV payouts helps the coffers (they're seriously looking at a replacement arena for Lloyd Noble Center, having more cash helps).
A&M may be the least happy, but it does have something to show for its turmoil. First, it forced UT to share TV payouts with them and OU, which will provide more cash to (hopefully) improve their facilities (maybe fix the Kyle Field sign, finally?). Second and more important, they did show UT that they can get an offer to join a major conference ON ITS OWN.

If A&M is smart, they work on forming an alliance with OU within the Big 12 minus minus, maybe push to add two more teams so the championship game (and the associated revenue) doesn't disappear (they can definitely use UT's greed against them on this), then in five years when UT wants a divorce they can be financially independent enough to go along with it, and take OU along with them to an expanded SEC.

Texas gets $25 mil, the most the other teams will get is $17 mil.

..and the rest of the conference lets this shite happen.

I like your theory, except I don't want OU in the SEC. It really doesn't fit geographically. A & M is stretching our boundaries enough.

Ou and aTm get at least $20Mil. You better bet your arse that aTm leveraged the SEC to get that money.

Yeah, but do you think they can believe it when UT says, "The check is in the mail", or "I won't c*m in your mouth." ??

Why do we continue to post unsubstantiated monetary figures as if this is a certainty?

Texas somehow created this mess and was all too ready to bolt to the Pac and now they're deemed the good guys? Fvcking hilarious.
