1. Take Memphis and Fred Smith's $10M/year offer. They're going to need the money somehow once they find out that the new TV contract will probably be paid in Monopoly money.
2. Go for BYU. Give the not-so-Big and no longer 12 Conference this much -- unlike the atheists over in Pac10Land, at least it will consider a religious school, and if they ever decide on a permanent rival format Baylor would have one that makes some sense.

No fricking way Baylor is going to allow TCU to join the conference, after last week.

They stay at 10

La Tech and ULL. Texas would want them both in their side if the league because they can still be dominant. Scared to join the SEC!

So will the Big 10 just switch the name with the Big XII?

I've always thought they should just add TCU and Houston and kick OU and Okla St. to the north. What do they do if Mizzou ultimately get the invite to the Big 10? They can't be happy with the revenues being split so unevenly. To me this was just a band-aid. The rest of the conference can't be so hard up that they let UT name their price.

You know the more I think about this, the more I think the Big XII should go on the offensive on the MWC. They could go to 16 themselves by adding Utah, BYU, TCU, Air Force, Colorado St., and Boise St. Throw all but TCU in the North with KU, K-State, and Mizzou.

And split the money that Texas wants for itself? Not going to happen.

Do they still have a conference championship game with only 10 teams? In an espn article, the answer was No.

They should go after Nebraska and Colorado or just change their name to the Big X.

I agree with this. The one good thing that would come from all of this is that the conference would be more balanced. The top two programs would be in different divisions and could face off in the CCG. So you could see two OU/UT games per year (does kind of diminish the importance of the RRSO), and you would hopefully see fewer 11-1 OU/UT vs. 7-5 CU/NU type of CCG games.
