Am I the only one that sees this as a good thing for LSU

I don't see how the status quo is going to turn A&M back to being a sucessful program, and now we don't have to compete as hard with them for recruits.
LSU started turning around when A&M fell off. Now I am not saying there is an absolute correlation, but I think it helps.

No, I agree. I think the big takeaway from this black eye of revealing UT and it's conference frailty is that LSU and Arkansas being 2 most Western SEC schools should be able to sell their programs better in Texas to youngsters and their families as they worry about the stability of the Big12-2 and whether or not it will hold together during their time in school. This could be a very good thing. Still would love to have seen us add A&M and OU. That would have been great for our conference and would have left UT flapping in breeze. That would have been sweet but now time to turn to the half full way of looking at things.

Exactly, fighting oil spills and beating Bama should be our focus.

Not only is this a good thing for LSU, it's a great thing for the SEC. The SEC was going to be challenged as the elite conference had those schools bounced for the PAC 10. Now the SEC can stand pat and the weakened Big 12 will be lucky to get an undefeated team in the BCS Championship. Not only that, but the Big 10 is not significantly strengthened. The SEC doesn't have to change a single schedule unless impacted by all the other moves. Great deal all the way around.

This certainly was just fine for LSU and the SEC. I'm glad that it looks like there will be no super-conferences.
