Makes enough regional sense, and would add the Phoenix market to the conference to replace the Denver market.

Plus, that would really stick it to Scott and the Pac 10.

Then the Pac 10 could add BYU, Utah, and Boise to get all the majors to 12 teams.

Can I hear an argument for why they should go to the Big12 though?

Bigger payout in the Big 12.

Strong BBall conference.

Just spitballing, and really just want to see the Pac 10 look stupid after all of this mess.

I'd like to see them sweat a bit and have to fight to keep their teams if the tables were turned.

You've got some good points. But I'd be scared to trust Texas, OU etc. right now. It just feels so unstable still.

If I was BYU or TCU, I might even have second thoughts.

True. But I think the Zona schools would stabilize the Big 12 substantially. It would significantly broaden the footprint, more than Nebraska or Colorado ever did, and bring in the Phoenix market, which seems to fit well with the Texas markets.

Plus, I just honestly think that all conferences should go to the 12 team model that has proven to be ideal by the SEC when the right teams are included.

I think the Big 10 is in great shape now adding Nebraska, and will have a major event in their championship game.

Big 12 would be very solid if it added the Zona schools, and the Pac 10 would be solid to add basically the entire state populations of Utah and Idaho by adding those 3 teams, over 4 million people, and also add a championship game. Boise, Utah, and BYU would add a lot of character to a league that is geared towards offense anyway.

Just my opinion.

BYU and TCU. Then the Mountain West will have NO shot at a BCS auto-bid, and the Big Six conferences will get to keep all that money they've been giving to the non-BCS conferences.

This was all about the rich getting richer.

I agree with you then, I think it would make sense.

Happens in business all the time. Someone starts a hostile takeover, and the target responds by attempting to takeover the attacker. Hell Arizona probably has the fastest growing population in the PAC-10.

I disagree about Nebraska.

Boise is never going to get in the Pac 10.
