You said this was the reason the SEC didn't want TX? Apparently it's only why you don't want TX. Only an idiot wouldn't want a school like TX in their conference for such a nonsensical reason.

Bama may be ONE of the worst in the SEC (I still think Barn fans are worse), but Texas fans are orders of magnitudes worse than Bama. . .exponential even.
If you took the worst RUMORED aspects of every fan in the SEC, and combined them. . .you would still be short of best Longhorn fan.

Who cares what the fans are like??? It's a great school with a great program - all sports. You don't have to attend UT, move to Austin or socialize with the Tea Sips - just root against them when we play them.

I don't want them simply because they think they run the show. They think they are bigger than the SEC. That's just not how things work around here.

They did run the show in two weak conferences - weak in terms of the power of the other schools and the structure of the conference. TX had a hand in the creation of the Big XII. In this instance they would be joining an existing organization - no chance to manipulate the form. The SEC, the conference, is bigger than any single university...even TX.

I love games against good teams with fans I hate - like UF. You'd rather go to a game against Appy State/LA Tech/Mid TN or UT? I prefer going to games that will matter. Playing UT would matter.

That's actually why I would want them. It'd be great to see them come in with that attitude only to be brought down to earth when they realize they're not the big boy on the block anymore.

Quit being a pussy Duckie. Less Smiles is going to hurt recruiting not TX. Honestly, A&M would hurt more - we compete with them in E. TX and as Less drags us down A&M could make inroads back into west LA like they did throughout the 90s.
