Why don't we want them in the SEC?

Is it because their fanbase sucks? Is it because they were THUG U?

What's the deal? Seems like if we're talking ratings, Miami would bring them...even if it isn't from people in Miami.

ETA: Not saying I want Miami...just wanted to understand the ire.

they don't fit in. Plus I don't think they want to be in the SEC.

What, specifically, sucks about their fanbase?

What fanbase? Miami isn't a SEC school. Hell they don't even have a stadium.... No Way....

They cannot even fill their stadium to capacity. Huge bandwagon fanbase just like USC. It is a small private school with a large Cuban/Hispanic population. It does not resemble an SEC caliber school in any way, shape or form. TAMU is one of the few schools in the South that has the fanbase, facilities and passion to rival the SEC schools.

That's cool...just not that familiar with them or their fanbase.

Would FSU be a good fit?

Miami strengthens the SEC. A&M doesnt, its that simple. Its all about appeal. Would the Avg college football fan across the country tune in to Alabama/LSU vs a&M or say LSU / Alabama vs Miami

I disagree. I think long term they could. In the short term they could still come in around the middle of the SEC west.

I think FSU would be a much better fit than Miami. Florida will dig their heels in against that one I'm sure. I think it is more likely to be Clemson or Va. Tech.

To me FL St would be alot better than Miami. Even though I think there is zero chance of either.

I agree with this. I think we should add one team in the East and one in the West.

Miami equals ratings and they have the ability to win championship. Who cares if they don't fit some idea of the culture of the sec?

So yes A&M would have something to offer, and probably more than the U would

It's a slippery slope. Do you really want to have to put up with those annoying fans.

We have choices and we should make the best choice and Miami isn't it.
