The horns act like the aggies need to see the benefit of them sticking together to keep the s.e.c. out of their state. However, they make a threat to the aggies if they don't see the horn way, none of the four schools will play the aggies.

This show's their insecurity and fear that the aggies and the s.e.c. would become the dominate brand in their state. The threat is confirmation, the horns need the aggies more than the aggies need the horns.

this entire threat and angle is about a plan to bring down the s.e.c., aggies can throw a kink in that and make the horns/ou/pac 15 move irrelevant.

regardless of what happens, the s.e.c. will survive. they may have a little more competition, now. however, they will still be the dominate brand in football. until someone can consistently beat them in a n.c. game, which hasn't been done. just because you merge to average conferences, doesn't make them much better. especially if they are scared of a championship game/claiming a champion.
