like the rest of the Big 12. At least yall have a spine and don't run away from good quality football. I have lost all respect for Texas. They were already arrogant assholes and now they are scared arrogant assholes. The Aggies will be my second favorite team thanks to the balls yall showed by telling Texas to suck yall's dong.

They wanted to stay together (Texas, Texas Tech, Oklahoma, and Oklahoma State) which is something none of the other conferences besides the Pac-10 (or the Big-12) could offer them.

That's not entirely true. We supposedly offered Texas, Texas A&m, Oklahama, and Oklahoma State. Its only missing Texas Tech. I don't think Texas avoided the SEC just because of Tech. Otherwise, they wouldn't go to the PAC 10 without A&M. Only possibility left is there scared of a little competition. Geographically, this makes absolutely no sense.

Texas has put themselves in such a bind they can not come to the SEC because of what they have said about the SEC. If they came they would never be able to live it down. They think they are so far above the SEC that it is not big enough for them or good enough.

I do not see how they are going to be able to play in the PAC-10 with the distances they would have to travel in order to play the games. Remember how hard it was for LSU to go up to Washington last year? Just imagine Texas, they aren't a lot closer than LSU, going up to Seattle one weekend and then turning around and going back up there to Eugene Oregon the next weekend. Now that does not even bring into play their non-revenue bearing sports having to travel.

Even if they would gain more money going out West verses the SEC it isn't enough to make up the difference in what it will end up costing them for their sporting programs for travel. I think they would be back knocking on the doors of the SEC within 5 years of them being in the PAC-10. JMHO!

Why do people think they will be going to the west coast for football games multiple times a year? They would only play 2 outside their eastern division, one at home, and one west coast game each year.

Because it doesn't fit with their hard-on for Texas for not wanting to be apart of the vaunted SEC. It's really comical.

Our hard on? Please. Texas gets off by looking into the mirror. That is the issue. They realize that coming to the SEC would put them in a sea of giants and their little ego's can't handle it. They claim academia, yet they were in a conference that they never planned on leaving for the last fourteen years with worse overall academics than the SEC. And Texas has done nothing close to what a program like ND has done in the name of academics for football players. It's a complete fallacy. But stand on that leg if you like, it's total bullsh1t though. Yeah take Tech, Ok Lite, and OU with you over there. The academic prowess of the big 12 is coming with UT to the Pac. YAY.

What about non-revenue sports with far more games each season. It looks like they will get to bear the brunt of that little side effect.

Those sports will certainly have some problems I would imagine. Baseball only makes money at a handful of schools, mostly in the SEC West with the likes of LSU, State in certain years, OM, and Arkansas. Texas probably does as well but that will be a problem in the future for these schools. Curious to see what they do about it.

No, the funny part is Texas finding out how much the Entire fanbase not agreeing with them going to the West coast to play their games. The time zones do not even match. Texas wants to go where they will get the most exposure but out west they are two time zones behind the SEC so when the biggest majority of the country are going to bed Texas will be just starting the second quarter of their game against whoever they are playing. Your scores will not even make the late night local news. I do not think that will go over to well when it comes to recruiting. All it will take is two recruiting cycles for this to come to bare and Texas starts loosing recruits because of it Texas will want to be coming back home.

The statement of this board is:

The SEC does not need Texas but, Texas needs the SEC! But because they have spewed their mouths out about how much better they are than the SEC they can not find it within themselves to ask the SEC to let them in!

I say if Texas were in the SEC west with us, they would be third behind bama and arky. We would be tied for third with them

To be honest UT is the last school I want in the SEC. UT is not a good fit in the SEC. Ut is ego centric. They only fit in a conference where they are the premiere team. In the SEC UT is just another fish in the pond.

UT is used to calling the shots as the big dawg. They understand that would not be the case in the SEC (LSU, Bama, FL, etc. would not allow it). You do realize they share none of their bowl money with other schools in the Big XII conference, right? They have nothing to gain but competition in the SEC. It makes sense for them to whimper over to the PAC-16 where they can flex their muscle and have an easier path to the BCS.

Seriously. Aggies and UT have more history than Tech. They are just being a bunch of pussies. Aggies welcome to the SEC if you come. Lets just get one more team from the East and everything will be fine.

Its refreshing to hear some positive feedback from outsiders. Here in Texas ,80% of the media are Texas Homers and have been bashing A&M relentlessly.

most of them cant wrap their head around A&M doing whats best for A&M and not falling in line with tu.

We might very well end up in the PAC whatever, but it wont be because they said we had too. it will be because we deemed it to be our best option.

I will say this tho, I sure as hell hope the BOR realizes that the SEC IS the best option!

FrogKiller, The SEC would be the best move for the Aggies. It definitely was for Arkansas. It would be brutal at first but you guys would never regret it. I don't think much will change with Texas. They will still have very good teams. But it would make A&M much better because the conference games will be tough EVERY week.

Hope you guys come aboard!
