What about all the contracts for game and conference contracts?

If the Big 12 loses say 6 schools leaving 8 schools hanging in the breeze, cant those remaining 8 schools cause all kinds of legal problems?

If the SEC and Big 10 want to expand eastward arent legal problems going to stop that expansion?

The Big-12 contracts run through 2012. If teams want to play in another conference before that, they have to pay a buyout

Most conferences have buy-out clauses if a school leaves. I'm pretty sure the SEC is the only major conference that does not have a buy-out clause. We figure if someone is dumb enough to leave, adios.

The buyout amount is $10 million per school, IIRC, and that cost only goes away if 9 schools of the 12 vote to dissolve the conference.

Considering that K-State, Kansas, Iowa State, and Baylor would likely be screwed in such an event, getting a 9-3 vote in favor of dissolving the conference is very unlikely.
