How does that list look?

I don't have a top ten list, but I'll give you some players.

Alex Song (depending on if he plays in midfield or defense)-Cameroon
Simon Kjaer-Denmark
Daniel Agger-Denmark
Fabio Cannavaro-Italy
Walter Samuel-Argentina
Per Mertesacker-Germany
Phillip Lahm-Germany
Bruno Alves-Portugal

That's just off the top of my head.

Most of these players are pretty well known. Good list.

Cannavaro is a bit too old and not his 2006 self.

Your list definitely needs Ashley Cole, Philip Lahm, and Patrice Evra.

If you had to pick one Spaniard, who would it be: Pique or Puyol

very tough decision. Pique is younger but Puyol is a workhorse. I'd actually go with Sergio Ramos, one of the best right-backs in the world, if you could. Otherwise Puyol.

From a fantasy perspective, it's best to pick defenders who will get cleansheets, avoid cards and score a rare goal.

Pique is a tidy defender, has decent finishing ability for a CB and doesn't make as many crunching, potentially fouling challenges as his partner Puyol.

Here's my current fantasy team. I think it looks awesome but maybe not:

GK: Timmy (good value)

D: Cannavaro
D: Vidic (good value)
D: Samuel
D: Lahm

M: Landon (good value)
M: Schweignsteiger or whatever the frick (good value)
M: Kaka
M: Ribery

F: Drogba (amazing value, if he doesn't play I'm fricked
F: Villa

that's a pretty good team, but in that list there are bound to be some duds. i'd add a couple players on the verge of awesomeness like mezut ozil in case they have great tourneys.

Why dont any of the lists have Gallas, Evra, or Sagna? Also, Rio Ferdinand is pretty damn good, even though he tweaked his knee.

this is a good pick for fantasy, he should get chances on FK (much more so than at Liverpool)

Maicon anyone?

Fantasy wise Lahm is gold, he is constantly getting forward, and making overlapping runs.

If were talking fantasy wise, what about Danny Alves (sp)? he may not start for Brazil but he will most certainly make appearances in all the games and he gets forward as much as Ramos and Lahm. He whips in some wicked crosses.

Starters get an extra point I think. I didn't delve too deep into the scoring system.
