So we can we please stop the "PM just won a NC, who are you to question him?" threads. The guy is a very good coach IMO, but he isn't infallible, it's ok to question some of the moves he made this weekend or throughout the season. That's what this place is for, questioning and "bitching" are two different things.

That's the problem - some don't get that.

They're the hypersensitive type that probably get mad and storm off the rest of the day at work when they screw up and their boss calls them out on it.

i agree....i "question" his decision to not bunt Gibbs. He's a great coach but that was just not a good decision IMO.

Do you think miles sometimes walks out of his house without pants on and his wife has to snag him back in?

This is my problem with a discussion forum and sometimes I'm guilty of it as well. I would like for anyone who posts flaming comments to ask themselves..."Would they make a comment or ask a question to the individual IN PERSON. Would they berate a coach, a player, an announcer, or a poster TO THEIR FACE. It's easy to sit in front of a computer and make derogatory remarks about someone. But, to me, if you don't have the stones to say it to their face, you probably should not make the comment.

If that were the case, this messageboard would be very boring. I don't think any of has the stones to say this to big Les

I think Maximus would say this to Les' face. Maximus and Nuts4LSU spend every waking moment consumed with hatred for a guy who has gone 51-15 over the past 5 years, with two SEC West titles, an SEC title, two BCS bowl wins and a national championship.

So are you doubting that they wouldn't tell Les to his face?

It's easy...Coaches show, Walk-On's, Open Mic... (Maximus, I'll be listening for it...)

He'd have to leave his mother's basement to do it though.

This is a ridicules statement. Les Miles has acted like a complete buffoon over the last two plus seasons (yes the end of 2007 was a precursor) and anyone who doesn't see that has their head in the sand or up a part of their own anatomy. Simply stating a record only tells a portion of the story.

PM made several coaching decisions this weekend including more than a couple bunt situations that should not only be questioned but rediculed. It does not mean he is a bad person or even a bad coach, but he blew it!

Personally, I would not have a problem with telling anyone the way I feel about something in which I am passionate.

Same here. Something tells me though that Manieri would be so much more receptive to criticism than Miles would.

No one said you cannot criticize. But the record and championships do matter. Les was hired to win football games and championships. He has done that. Lately things have slipped. He's not been perfect and there is cause for concern and questioning. All that is fine. But anyone calling a coach who has achieved Les' accomplishments a "buffoon" is the one whose head is up his arse.

Good. As a prior poster said. There is ample opportunity for you to "tell Les to his face" that he is a buffoon. We'll all listen for you during the first Les Miles radio show next fall.

I can live with that one since there was none out, a runner in scoring position already, and 4, 5, and 6 coming up. To me, that's a reasonable gamble to make in the 8th.

Now, the move in the 9th with not bunting when we had a runner on 1st and none out is a tab harder for me to understand, but Paul knows his team/players better than me.

The concept of the constant "debate" is silly.

About the only debate that is had here is when an active decision does not go well. IE the decision to bunt or not bunt.

If Gibbs hits a gapper then there are folks talking about what a great job PM did to let him hit away. If he bunts into a force a third, folks are still bitching similar to the bitching regarding Gaudet less that 1 day earlier.

Possibly PM made more errors last year in the title run, but however we won, so no harm no foul I suppose.

It is really just pretty amusing.

at least Mainieri didn't quit on the team like Chris Guillot, i'll say that.
