Does Mike Gillespie see LSU in his Nightmares...?

Someday he will be old and in a nursing home, and only able to mouth a single nervous phrase "LSU ...LSU....LSU...LSU argggghhh...LSU"
Does anybody recall his past LSU comments and that USC series of long ago ?

1st memory:
LSU beats USC to advance to CWS despite USC RF Jacques Jones hitting 3 home runs in the game. After the game, Gillespie came to the tailgaiting area under the trees on Skip Bertman Drive opposite the Box and got wasted. His baseball cap was on sideways when he staggered off. True story. Skip still likes to tell that one.
2nd memory:
When Gillespie was still HC at USC and before a CWS game between LSU and USC he told his players not to let the crowd get to them because, "Half the crowd will be from Louisiana and the other half will be fed in the RV/tailgaiting lot by people from Louisiana before the game."

Being a UCLA alumnus and having a friend's son play regularly for UCI, I can tell you that Gillespie way over coaches IMHO. I've seen him time and again do ridiculous things. The players have been able to achieve despite his predisposition to over coach.
Both LSU and UCI have excellent teams this year. I hope whoever wins the L.A. regional goes all the way!

He's definitely had some rough times against LSU.
In 1990, I think he was coaching at USC when they played in a regional at Alex Box. They beat us in the winner's bracket, but we came back to beat them twice in the championship round to advance to Omaha.
Later in the '90s, I forget when, we beat them in a slugfest when one of their guys hit three HRs in the game.
He got us in '98 at the CWS when they returned the favor from 1990, losing to us in the winner's bracket, then beating us twice in the bracket championship to advance to the NC game, which they won.
In '08, the super regional between Irvine and LSU at Alex Box was a tough time for him.
And, of course, yesterday.
